Privacy Policy

Last updated

This website is operated by Isabelle Dulac. This policy explains what personal information the site collects, why it is collected, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies only to this website.

The short version

The site does not use advertising or tracking pixels, sets no cookies, and does not sell or rent personal information to anyone. Beyond privacy-friendly visitor counts, information is collected only when you choose to type it into one of the forms.

What is collected, and when

Contact form

When you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you enter are sent to Isabelle Dulac by email so that your enquiry can be answered.

Booking and speaking request form

When you submit a booking request, the details you enter — name, organization or event name, email address, phone number, proposed event date and time, the topics and formats you select, and any additional notes — are sent by email so the request can be considered and answered.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address and the first name you provide are added to a mailing list and used to send occasional updates about new books, signings, and events. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the hosting provider records basic technical information for each request — such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested — in server logs used to keep the site running and secure.

Visitor statistics

This site uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to count visits and see which pages people read. Umami is deliberately limited in what it gathers: it records the page visited, the site that referred you, and general details such as browser, device type, and country. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address, does not build a profile of you, and cannot follow you to other websites. There is nothing collected here that could identify you personally.

These statistics are gathered by software running on Isabelle Dulac's own server. They are not sent to Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics company, and they are not combined with data from anywhere else. If you would rather not be counted at all, the site honours the "do not track" setting in your browser, and any standard tracker-blocking extension will stop these statistics being recorded.

Service providers

Three service providers process information on behalf of this site. Each handles only what is needed for its function, and each has its own privacy policy:

  • Web3Forms — delivers contact and booking form submissions by email.
  • EmailOctopus — stores newsletter subscribers and sends the newsletter.
  • Vercel — hosts the website and serves its pages.

How long information is kept

Enquiries and booking requests are kept as email correspondence for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the arrangement. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Server logs are kept on the hosting provider's normal retention schedule.

Your choices and rights

You may ask what personal information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. To do any of these, or to ask a question about this policy, write to isabelledulac@outlook.com. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email, without needing to contact anyone.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
